Each prospective family follows these steps to complete the application process:

1. Application
Interested families submit an application for their child. Applications may either be submitted online or downloaded then mailed or faxed.

2. Parent Visit
Prospective parents tour the school. To schedule a personal tour please call (817) 732-0252. You will receive a Parent Questionnaire if you are applying for a Toddler or Preschool student. Families with children applying to Grades 1-6 will receive a letter from MCH with a Release of Information form and a Teacher Recommendation form. Parents give these forms to their child’s current school. The applicant’s current school completes the forms then sends the recommendation, transcript and any standardized testing directly to Montessori Children’s House.

3. Student Visit
Prospective students applying for preschool or elementary are invited to visit the school and stay for a session. Preschoolers normally stay for a half day and elementary students visit for a full day. An oral report will be given to the parent within three school days after all the teachers have an opportunity to give observations.

4. Notification
Decisions for admission are made on a rolling basis throughout the year as spaces are available. Elementary students start in the fall unless there is a special circumstance. School personnel use contact information provided on the application.

5. Acceptance
Once an Applicant is accepted, the parents complete and submit additional forms including an Emergency Information and Release Authorization document and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Health Information (including immunization history). Use hyperlinks to these forms. Students entering the elementary program will be required to furnish the Field Trip Release form.

A deposit including the fees for registration, materials, Musikgarten (toddler and preschool classes only), Montessori Parents’ Club dues and the first month’s tuition is required to secure the child’s place in class.

For all applicants, prospective parents and students meet privately with their teachers for an informal discussion of classroom procedures, expectations, and objectives.
